Plant photography
It’s Monday, 2 September 2019. I look at my ringing alarm clock and realise at that very moment: today is the first day of my training at VISUELL! In good spirits and also a little excited, I set off for the studio on Tübinger Straße for the first time this morning.
I have been very creative since childhood, always doing lots of crafts and decorating, with great attention to detail. After graduating from secondary school, I worked in areas such as office administration, logistics and medicine, and finally found my dream job: digital and print media designer.
I have now been one of the three current trainees at VISUELL for almost three months and am learning something new every day. Whether it’s logo design for a tender, important aspects of typography or the layout of an article in the field of editorial design.
Just this week, we had another special assignment: Laureen and I spent the morning at Wilhelma Zoo taking photos of plants! Equipped with two cameras, an additional macro lens and lots of excitement, we took pictures of all kinds of beautiful plants in the greenhouses and tropical houses. The pictures, which are now being edited, will ultimately end up in my first big project of my own: a calendar I designed myself. My goal here is to get to know the SLR camera with its manual settings better, independently of the customer, and to get a feel for composition.
From the beginning of my training, I was involved in projects and thus integrated into the team – one of the many reasons why I already feel very much at home at VISUELL. And it’s only just beginning!
