Plantsphotography
It’s Monday, 2 September 2019. I look at my ringing alarm clock and realise at the same moment: my training at VISUELL starts today! I set off for the studio in Tübinger Str. for the first time this morning in a good mood and also a little excited.
I’ve been very creative since I was a child, I’ve always done a lot of handicrafts and decorations with great attention to detail. After graduating from high school, I worked in areas such as offices, logistics and medicine and finally found my dream job: Digital and print media designer.
I’ve been one of the three current trainees at VISUELL for almost three months now and I’m learning something new every day. Whether it’s designing a logo for a tender, learning about important typography or laying out an article in the editorial design department.
Just this week, something special was on the agenda again: Laureen and I went to Wilhelma for a morning to take photos of plants! Equipped with two cameras, an additional macro lens and a lot of anticipation, we took pictures of all kinds of beautiful plants in the greenhouses and tropical houses. The pictures, which are now being edited, will ultimately end up in my first big project of my own: a self-designed calendar. The aim here is for me to get to know the SLR camera and its manual settings better, independently of the customer, and to get a feel for composition.
From the start of my training, I was involved in projects and was therefore very well integrated into the team – one of the many reasons why I already feel very much at home at VISUELL. And it’s only just beginning!
