As part of the government press conference, Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann will announce the work programme for reducing bureaucracy for 2019/20 in Stuttgart on 26 November 2019. With almost 60 initiatives, bureaucratic hurdles are to be removed in future – the largest programme in the state’s history, approved by the Baden-Württemberg state government. In addition, the 2018 annual report on bureaucracy reduction, bureaucracy avoidance and better regulation is being published.
The public tender issued by the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg sets VISUELL the task of designing the annual report and the work programme on bureaucracy reduction in a clear and user-friendly manner, presenting the information in a structured way. BIn our design, we think one step further and produce sketches that visualise the theme of bureaucracy reduction, whilst loosening up and complementing the layout.
Bureaucracy is a topic that VISUELL frequently encounters and which often stands in the way of the creative process. However, the work programme promises improvement. In future, many visits to government offices will be able to take place seamlessly across different media. With the help of various humorous, friendly and forward-looking illustrations, we convey the positive changes and simplifications that reducing bureaucracy can bring.
VISUELL begins by proofreading the work programme and annual report. This is followed by the design of the content. We focus on the benefits of reducing bureaucracy – not on the drawbacks of bureaucracy, which makes the work programme and annual report appear much more approachable. As digitalisation plays a major role, this theme is reflected in our illustrations. Through clear, informative graphics and diagrams, we ensure good readability and comprehensibility.
The work programme and annual report are published just in time for the government press conference with a modern look. Graphics and illustrations complement the structured layout whilst lightening it up at the same time.
The friendly design invites readers to leaf through the pages and highlights the benefits that come with reducing bureaucracy. The illustrations we have produced are projected in the government press conference hall to accompany the presentation by Minister-President Kretschmann and State Secretary Dr Stegmann.

“VISUELL has done an excellent job of presenting the topic of reducing bureaucracy – which many find daunting – in a clear and approachable way – and they did so under considerable time pressure, through superb collaboration and with a great deal of flexibility.”
Jens Braunewell, Head of Department 16
State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg
