The Night of the Open Monument in Baden-Württemberg is an impressive kick-off event for the Open Monument Day, which takes place in a different city every year. The German Foundation for Monument Protection launched this day in 1993 to raise public awareness of architectural heritage and to emphasise monument protection as an important contribution to the preservation of history and culture. The Monument Weekend is the most important civic and cultural event in the country.
This year, the motto of the event is >Talent Monument<. The Night of the Open Monument begins with a ceremonial opening in Baden-Baden Theatre, where important people from society and politics will speak. VISUELL is responsible for the design of the event, from the invitation and brochure to the signage system and stage design. We are working closely with the City of Baden-Baden and the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments (LAD), taking care to harmonise the corporate design of both partners and the concerns of all parties involved. The content, approach and design are determined in several workshops and meetings. This requires a sure instinct and clear communication with a well thought-out organisational concept. To draw attention to the open monuments at night, we use the signage system we developed with 6 metre high illuminated cones. The banderoles contain information about the buildings, the location of the monuments and references to other digitally accessible content, with the colours signalling the different districts.
VISUELL’s services include brainstorming, conception and implementation of the print media, the design of the stage set, the development and implementation of the illuminated cones, project management as well as the graphic implementation and printing of the banners for the theatre and the illuminated cones. Production is carried out both internally and externally in close co-operation with long-standing service providers. VISUELL realises the entire event from a single source, which makes this project exceptional. This holistic approach offers our clients considerable advantages and enables smooth coordination between the various project partners.

“We would like to thank VISUELL for the smooth and, above all, uncomplicated collaboration! In particular, it is important to us for professional cooperation that we can operate on a high level of trust and mutual transparency, which has taken place in the best sense with VISUELL.”
