VISUELL has conceived, designed and produced a fully modular travelling exhibition for the Common Ground project run by the Robert Bosch Stiftung. With >Common Ground – Shaping the Future Across Borders<, the Foundation is supporting eight cross-border civic participation projects in German border regions. The opening of the six-language exhibition will take place in Berlin. It will then tour the participating border regions in Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland and the Benelux countries. Across approximately 100 square metres, we present the work and results of the projects that strengthen the economy, culture and community life.
In close collaboration with the project team, VISUELL clarifies the expectations, content and processes of the exhibition. We design a modular plug-in system made of lightweight sandwich panels with a honeycomb core. In the run-up to the exhibition, we produce prototypes and test handling and stability until the system is ready for production. We handle the scheduling, production coordination and supervision. The system is dispatched by post and can be assembled on site without tools. Our detailed assembly instructions ensure a smooth set-up, including the projection technology.
Each border region is given its own themed island, which conveys the history of the individual Common-Ground projects. We make extensive use of images and photographs. Colour codes, icons and headlines follow the existing corporate design and structure the exhibition. They guide visitors intuitively through the exhibition. The design language remains deliberately rounded and has a harmonious, friendly feel. The colourful design appeals to both children and young people.
To ensure multilingualism whilst avoiding an overload of text, we have opted for a clear solution: each language has its own panel. In addition, we have divided the exhibition into an East and a West tour. The East tour combines German, English, Polish and Czech. The West tour combines German, English, French and Dutch. German and English are included in both sets. The Polish/Czech and Dutch/French text panels are interchangeable.
At the introductory station, the Robert Bosch Stiftung is presented. The promotional film shown there brings together all the projects and highlights the common goal of all border regions. Here, visitors have the opportunity to write down their wishes and suggestions regarding the Common Ground projects.
This fully modular exhibition combines information, participation and brand identity into a precisely orchestrated brand experience that resonates across borders.
