VISUELL is staging a mobile special exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra at the StadtPalais – Museum für Stuttgart. The challenge lies in the unique conditions of the open foyer, with a ceiling height of seven metres, and the need to keep the exhibition flexible. Large-format, floor-to-ceiling banners are suspended from the gallery. These visual highlights and imposing information displays lend the space a distinctive atmosphere. The mobile display units, with deliberately visible coloured castors, emphasise the exhibition’s mobility, which allows it to be moved to an adjoining room for additional events.
The Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra is an open-minded and transparent ensemble that places great value on connecting with its audience. The exhibition combines historical content with interactive elements to spark broad interest and emphasise the musical experience. For children and families, for example, there is the conducting app Conductor’s Coach. Using a baton, it playfully conveys the feeling of conducting an orchestra. A music quiz trains the ear and tests visitors’ knowledge. Listening stations featuring historical recordings, a promotional film and a browsing station that guides visitors through 100 years of concert and conducting history offer adult audiences fascinating insights into the orchestra’s tradition.
The concept is being developed in close collaboration with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the team at the StadtPalais – Museum for Stuttgart. In regular meetings and presentations, we adapt the design to the spatial and content-related requirements. The design follows the corporate identity of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, which we complement with a fresh, modern pattern. We implement the planning both in-house and with our network of regional service providers. Following on-site installation, the exhibition is handed over to the staff of the StadtPalais – Museum for Stuttgart, accompanied by a technical briefing.
With this mobile, interactive exhibition, VISUELL combines historical depth, playful lightness and a well-thought-out spatial presentation that does justice to the occasion of the celebrations.

“With plenty of fresh creativity, sensitivity and a can-do attitude, Ilona and Luis’s team did a fantastic job of bringing our ideas to life, even within a tight timeframe – many thanks!”
