To mark the 25th anniversary of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Road Construction Authority Nordrhein-Westfalen (Straßen.NRW), VISUELL has conceived and designed the brochure “We build roads for life – for 25 years, today and in the future”. It complements the trade fair stand, also designed by VISUELL at InfraTech 2026 in Essen, as well as the corporate film and eleven themed films, with a lasting medium that explores the anniversary content in greater depth.
VISUELL is using the content, photos and other materials to develop a clearly structured magazine, bringing everything together in a cohesive format and overseeing the brochure right through to print. In close collaboration with Straßen.NRW, a 136 pages a high-quality magazine is being produced, bringing together 30 thematic areas, key projects and the eight regional branches in a consistent design. In the centre, a gatefold opens to reveal a timeline depicting 25 years of Straßen.NRW.
A clear page layout links introductory images, body text, quotations, facts and milestones. Full-page photographs alternate with uncluttered text pages and orange-coloured double-page spreads. This gives the brochure a varied rhythm and ensures it remains clearly structured despite its extensive content. We complement Straßen.NRW’s corporate typeface with a monospace font featuring clear, neutral and modern forms. We highlight the contrasts between main texts, headlines, facts and footnotes, thereby reinforcing the editorial structure. Using the corporate colour orange, as well as black and white, we reflect the corporate design of Straßen.NRW. Printing the orange as a spot colour gives it additional vibrancy and presence, which emphasises the high-quality character of the brochure.
VISUELL combines content, design and production into a publication that stands on its own whilst also visibly complementing the image of Straßen.NRW at the trade fair, in the promotional film and in the eleven themed films.

“Anyone who has been building roads for life for 25 years has plenty to tell. The films and the brochure turn these experiences into an experience in themselves!”
